These terms and conditions of use of Hobonichi Store (the “Terms and Conditions”) have been established with respect to the products and services provided through “Hobonichi Store,” a constituent of the contents of the “Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shimbun” website (“Hobonichi”) operated by Hobinichi Co., Ltd.(the “Company”), and are applicable to the relationship between the Company and customers when the shipping address of the products or the destination of the services is in Japan.
If the shipping address of the products or the destination of the services is outside of Japan, the Terms of Sale of Global-e, which is affiliated with the Company, are applicable to the relationship between the Company and customers.

Customers to whom the Terms and Conditions apply, such as customers whose shipping address of the products or destination of the services is in Japan, are reminded that by using the Hobonichi Store they are deemed to have accepted all provisions set forth in the Terms and Conditions.

Points of Note |
1. Product prices
Selling prices vary depending on the product. Please refer to individual product pages to see respective prices.
2. Ordering products
After ordering products on the respective product pages, customers need to enter into Hobonichi Store the requested information necessary for ordering, such as shipping address and payment method. An e-mail confirmation containing order details and the customer information will be sent to the customer. The Company may contact the customer for further necessary verification by e-mail, phone, or postal mail. Order deadlines differ depending on the product. Please refer to the individual product page for details.
3. Order delivery
Delivery methods and the number of days required for delivery may vary by product. Please refer to the individual product page for details.
4. Returns and exchanges
Although utmost care is taken to provide accurate product descriptions, due to the characteristics of mail order sales, actual products may in some instances differ from customer anticipation. If a customer desires to return a product for personal reasons, a refund will be issued for products mailed back within 14 days of order delivery. In these instances, return shipping charges are the responsibility of the customer.
Please take note that only unused products can be returned or exchanged.
In the instance of a defective product, the Company will provide an exchange for the product and pay return shipping charges, so please contact Hobonichi Store within 14 days of order delivery.
Exchange requests for personal reasons are not accepted. Except as provided herein, the Company is not liable to provide any remedy for deficiency or defect of products. See here for instructions on returns and exchanges.
5. Payment methods
Payment is accepted by credit card, remittance at convenience stores or postal banks, or payment on delivery. Available payment methods may vary by product, so please refer to the individual product page for more information.
Payments sent at convenience stores and postal banks have a maximum limit of 30,000 yen (including tax). Payments must be sent within 14 days of order delivery. If the customer has a cumulative total of pending payments over 30,000 yen (including tax), including any unshipped orders, payments may not be submitted by convenience store or postal bank remittance. If payment is not confirmed within 14 days of order delivery, the Company may limit the customer’s store usage or take legal action.
6. Order cancellation
To cancel an order, please complete the cancellation procedure as prescribed for each individual product. It is not possible to cancel orders for products that have already entered shipping preparations.
Please take note that an order will be voided if the order cannot be delivered due to prolonged absence or imprecise address of the customer.

7. Handling of personal information
Customer and order information entered by customers is handled appropriately by the Company in accordance with the Company’s Privacy Statement.
Data entered by customers is stored on the Company’s database. Please see here for instructions on changing customer information, and here for instructions on deleting customer information.
Contact us at store@1101.com for disclosure, revision, or cancellation of information maintenance in accordance with Articles 25, 26, and 27 of the Personal Information Protection Act.
The Company may need to confirm the identity of the customer for security purposes. The Company will respond to requests regarding information retention, but it may not be possible to honor a request if there are open payments, open processes, or matters awaiting confirmation.
8. Change of entered information
Customers are requested to promptly update their customer information by following the procedures provided by the Company. The Company is not responsible for complications that arise from obsolete customer information.
9. Prohibited acts
The Company may suspend the transaction, cancel the agreement, and refuse any further transactions if a customer engages in any of the following acts when using Hobonichi Store.
(1) If a customer enters false information or information based on identity theft.
(2) If a customer places an order with fraudulent intent or without an intent to purchase.
(3) If a customer fails to make a payment by the payment date.
(4) If a customer engages in an act that obstructs or harms the operations of the Company.
(5) If a customer engages in an act that infringes on a right of the Company, another customer, or a third party (including copyright infringement).
(6) If a customer acts against public order or otherwise acts against laws and regulations.
(7) If a customer engages in an act otherwise judged inappropriate by the Company.
10. Suspension of service
Hobonichi may temporarily suspend Hobonichi Store operations and the provision of the Services due to failure or suspension of computer and network equipment and lines, power failure, natural disaster, maintenance work, or other reasons.
11. Subscription Service
Subscription service is a service in which a customer recurringly receives products a specified number of times at a set interval of the customer’s choice. Please check the Hobonichi Store to see which products are subject to subscription service.
In subscription service, recurring orders are automatically made at designated intervals. Please refer to the “Terms and Conditions of Use” for conditions not regulated in this clause including order, return and exchange, and other terms regarding purchase.
(1) Payment must be made at every delivery. Payment is accepted by credit card, remittance at convenience stores or postal banks, or payment upon delivery. There are cases in which remittance at convenience stores or postal banks can not be selected for the first order, for a certain period of time from the first order, or depending on how a customer uses the service. If a customer has a cumulative total of pending payments over 30,000 yen (including tax) at the time of subscribing to the service, payment may not be made by remittance at convenience stores or postal banks.
If a customer chooses to use a credit card for payment and the Company could not verify the card during the designated time of subscription service, the Company will notify the customer at the e-mail registered at the Hobonichi Store. If a valid credit card is not registered with the Hobonichi Store, the Company will ask for the payment by remittance at convenience stores or postal banks.
(2) The interval and the number of deliveries a customer can choose vary depending on products. Delivery options a customer can choose differ from ordinary delivery options. Products delivered by subscription service can not be packaged and sent together with other products under regular orders. Please refer to the product page at the Hobonichi Store for details.
(3) Shipping under subscription service is only within Japan.
(4) During the period of subscription service, a customer can change the shipping addresses and methods of payment by logging into the Hobonichi Store account. However, a customer can not change the products or the delivery intervals.
(5) A customer can cancel the order. Just like ordinary orders, cancellation is possible before products have entered shipping preparations. Please complete the cancellation procedure by logging in to the Hobonichi Store account.
(6) Cancellation of subscription is possible at any time. Please complete the cancellation procedure by logging into the Hobonichi Store account.
(7) A customer will be notified about the renewal of subscription service for the same products and the same terms at the time when order is made for the final shipping.
(8) The same shipping fee or fee for payment upon delivery applies from the beginning to the end of subscription service.
(9) The company may change, temporarily suspend or terminate subscription service due to changes in product supply system or in computer and network system, and other conditions. Should there be any damage done to a customer due to the change, suspension, or termination of subscription service, the Company will not assume liability for damages unless there is any willful act or gross negligence of the Company.

Governing law |
These Terms and Conditions of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan without regard to any conflict of law provisions. |
Trademarks |
The trade name of Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shimbun, its logo, artwork, production process, and design, etc., are registered with patent offices and are protected under laws concerning the protection of intellectual property rights. Their use without the permission of the Company is prohibited. Furthermore, product names and company names other than those related to Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shimbun may in instances constitute trademarks belonging to their respective owners, and unauthorized use may infringe on intellectual property rights. |
Copyrights |
Copyrights to the manuscripts of editorial content, images, illustrations, moving images, sound, photographs, designs, and data, etc., of Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shimbun belong to Hobonichi or the respective producers. Editorial content, publications, and manufactured products (DVDs, goods, etc.) may not without the permission of the copyright holder be used for purposes other than those provided under the Copyright Law.
E-mail received from customers may be published in Hobonichi editorial content. Customers are requested to indicate in their mail if they wish their mail not to be published. Furthermore, published e-mails are treated such that copyrights are deemed transferred to Hobonichi Co., Ltd. , the exercise of “moral copyrights” is deemed forgone, and permission is deemed given for said e-mail to be edited at the discretion of the Company. |
Disclaimer |
The Company is not liable to provide any indemnification for any damage, whether direct or indirect, sustained by a customer due to the use of Hobonichi Store and Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shimbun, and the products and services provided through Hobonichi Store. Returns are restricted to products returned within 14 days of delivery. In the event that the Company provides an exchange for a defective product, the Company will not assume liability for damages. |
Other provisions |
1. If litigation becomes necessary in connection with the use of this site, the matter shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court of Japan for the settlement.
2. In case of non-payment of a purchase price or such other breach of these terms and conditions by a user, an indemnification liability arises to said user, for the claim and collection of which the Company may require the services of an attorney at law.
