This cover is modeled after Shigesato Itoi’s 1994 Super Nintendo game, MOTHER 2 (EarthBound in North America). The design features the townscape of Onett, including the scenic Beak Point on the west side of town. The cover interior and bookmark charms are bright yellow, the bookmark strings are green, and the pen holders feature Onett’s forest and sea. The cover showcases all the bright colors of the game, and included with every cover is a red Mr. Saturn pencil board.

- All covers are hand-made and may contain slight variances
Each and every cover is individually sewn by a factory worker hand-operating a sewing machine. Best efforts are made to ensure consistent sizes and specifications, but as these products are hand-made, covers are not made as exact copies.
- Using Cover on Cover
The PVC plastic of the Cover on Cover may lose elasticity and become difficult to put on when left in cold temperatures. If this happens, we recommend letting the product sit in a warm area before applying to your cover. Please be careful when handling your Cover on Cover in cold temperatures, as it becomes more susceptible to damages if dropped or handled roughly.
- Print may have spots on material
Due to the intricate details of the design, the cover material may have small spots or blots that occur during printing.
- About the white silk print areas
The MOTHER 2 logo on the cover interior is white ink silk-printed on top of the cover’s printed material. This delicate print may peel or come off with daily use. If using a Cover on Cover, the silk print may stick to the plastic and eventually come off with it from the constant contact.
- Bookmark threads may be white
The two bookmarks were originally white and have been dyed, so stitching may expose an inner white portion where the dye did not reach.
- Sliding no-slip pens into the pen holder
Hobonichi Techo covers come with pen holders that keep the pages shut. Depending on the material of the cover, pens with rubber grips may be difficult to slide into the holder.
- Maximum pen width for pen holder
The pen holder is designed to perfectly fit the 12.2mm (0.48”) diameter Jetstream pen offered as a free bonus gift with select Hobonichi Web Shop products. Pens with certain shapes and materials may be difficult to pull through the holder. The holder can fit pens up to 13.5mm (0.53”) in diameter.
- Cleaning a dirty cover
If you feel the surface of your cover has become dirty, we recommend dabbing the cover with a clean cloth dampened with diluted neutral detergent. Please do not use any kind of dryer on the material, as it may shrink, and air-dry it indoors or in the shade.
The white on the MOTHER 2 logo is a delicate silk print that may peel off, so please be careful not to rub or press on this area too hard.
