HobonichiCover on Cover “Star Upon a City” for Planner / Original
This is the decorated version of the Cover on Cover, an optional, extra covering that fits select Hobonichi Techo covers to protect them from wear and tear while instantly giving solid-color covers a fresh new look. (Not for use directly on book.)
This Cover on Cover features an illustration of a silver star shining upon a serene cityscape. Featuring illustrator Saki Obata, seeing this Cover on Cover feels like looking out of a window. “I wanted to invoke a feeling that’s a mix of melancholy, happy and encouraging; the feeling you get when you spot a blurry star in a brightly-lit city, rather than seeing a well-defined star in a dark and mountainous countryside,” comments Obata.
Does it depict a scenery in the dusk, or the dawn? Depending on the color of the cover and your feelings at the time, the artwork lends itself to different interpretations.
In order to preserve the design of this illustrated Cover on Cover, there is no opening located in the back to access the back pocket of the cover.

- Not recommended for leather or faux leather covers
The Cover on Cover has been specially measured for use on the Colors and Faux Fabric lines of thin covers. Other covers may not fit properly into the Cover on Cover. The PVC vinyl of the Cover on Cover contains plasticizer additives which may affect the color and quality of a leather or faux leather cover and cause a reaction in the dye. Please see a list of compatible covers below:

The PVC vinyl of the Cover on Cover may lose elasticity and become difficult to put on when left in cold temperatures. If this happens, we recommend letting the product sit in a warm area before applying to your cover. Please be careful when handling your Cover on Cover in cold temperatures, as it becomes more susceptible to damages if dropped or handled roughly.
- No opening for cover back pocket
In order to preserve the attractiveness of the patterns, the Cover on Cover does not contain an opening for the back pocket of the planner cover. Please note you will not be able to access this pocket when this Cover on Cover is on.
