This character is based on the Hobonichi Earth Ball. Shigesato Itoi wrote the words and artist Q-rais drew the illustrations for this character, which was featured in a small children’s book included as a bonus in the December 2018 issue of the “First Grader” magazine by Shogakukan. This book will be available for sale on its own in March 2019.
This cute little character made it onto a techo cover for the Spring lineup. The illustration was specially created for this cover by artist Q-rais!
For the first time, we’ve released a cover as a set with a special custom Cover on Cover that’s been designed exclusively for this product. The Cover on Cover showcases charming Chikyu-chan among the sparkling stars in the sky.
The techo cover is made with a matte polyester material to make the print pop. The Cover on Cover, designed to protect your cover from grime and markings, has stars printed in white and gold. Place this product onto the Chikyu-chan cover to make her float among the stars in the sky.
The interior of the cover also features an original illustration of Chikyu-chan.
When the Cover on Cover is applied, Chikyu-chan’s friend, the moon, is below.
Another interior pocket contains the logo of the Hobonichi Earth Ball.
Now you can be ready for the new spring ahead with this cute, pocket-sized Earth by your side.

In order to provide you with the most satisfaction for your product, we've compiled a list of warnings, potential issues, and tips to keep in mind for this particular product. Please be sure to read this information carefully before placing your order.
Each item is individually assembled and sewn by hand by a factory worker. Best efforts are made to ensure consistent sizes and specifications, but there may be slight differences.
This material is first printed or dyed and then later sewn onto the cover. While colors are designed to be consistent, there may be uneven coloring or slight shade variances between covers. This may also happen across a single cover, such as a pocket compared to the rest of the cover. In addition, on rare occasions, there may be small black or white dots visible on the print. This is an unavoidable aspect of the manufacturing process.
The PVC plastic of the Cover on Cover may lose elasticity and become difficult to put on when left in cold temperatures. If this happens, we recommend letting the product sit in a warm area before applying to your cover. Please be careful when handling your Cover on Cover in cold temperatures, as it becomes more susceptible to damages if dropped or handled roughly.
The pen holders are rigid at first, making it difficult to insert pens. You can speed up the breaking-in process by rolling the pen holders in your hand.
The pen holder is designed to perfectly fit the 12.2 mm (0.48”) diameter Jetstream pen offered as a free bonus gift with select Japanese-version Hobonichi Web Shop products. Pens with certain shapes and materials may be difficult to pull through the holder. The holder can fit pens up to 13.5 mm (0.53”) in diameter.
Please avoid storing your product in hot, humid places or placing it atop other objects for long periods of time as this may result in lower quality and color stains.
