This pencil board is a collaboration between the Hobonichi Techo and the 1994 video game Mother 2, called EarthBound in North America.



The white pencil board is printed with an image of Belch and a Starman excitedly plotting something.



As is the case with the 2019 Hobonichi Techo cover Third Sanctuary and the Weeks book Drink Coffee Before Go?, the famous and precious figurines pictured in this image were specially made for use in the official guidebook originally included with the game back in 1994.



Photographer Machiko Odan took the pictures, and the scene was lovingly set up by stylists Maiko Akiyama and Yuta Akiyama.



The pencil board comes in two sizes: A6 for use with the Planner or Original book, and a size designed for use with the Weeks book.



Keeping it underneath the page you're writing on allows the reinforcement of the thin, comfortable board to provide an enjoyable writing experience. It also protects the page underneath from imprints through the paper.



The edge of the board is marked by the millimeter to provide a handy ruler and a tab on the corner to mark the current page if you'd like to use it as a bookmark as well.



This pencil board matches the Mother 2 series covers perfectly, so it’s great to use as a set.
