This cover is produced by Arts&Science, a brand and shop lead by Sonya Park, who is also the creative director of the Hobonichi Techo Planner. Every year, the Arts&Science covers are made with a high quality leather, and this year is the first time the series is made with a mix of cloth and leather.
The cloth is an original linen textile created by Arts&Science. The material is sturdy and used in bags and accessories.
The calf leather is black, vegetable-tanned, and made in Italy.
The cover interior is made in Japan and uses mature cow leather called steerhide. Both types of leather develop a sheen over time and allow users to enjoy watching them mature over years of continued use.
There’s a handle on the spine of this trifold cover, making it easy to hold open and use even while standing — simply put your fingers through the handle to hold it. When you’re not using the techo, it will close flat and stay comfortably compact.
This high-level techo cover combines a totally unique design with great practicality.
The cover is also available in an all-leather version exclusively available at Arts&Science shops.

- Leather coloring stains
Dyed leather products tend to leave stains. Please be careful not to allow the leather to adhere or rub against other objects such as clothing or other belongings, especially if the bag is wet from water or sweat from your hands.
- Avoid storing in hot and humid places
Please avoid storing your product in hot, humid places or placing it atop other objects for long periods of time as this may result in lower quality and color stains.
- Pen holders are rigid at first
The pen holders are rigid at first, making it difficult to insert pens. You can speed up the breaking-in process by rolling the pen holders in your hand.
- Pen holder fits pens up to 13.5 mm wide
The pen holder is designed to perfectly fit the 12.2 mm (0.48”) diameter Jetstream pen offered as a free Hobonichi Store Exclusive. Pens with certain shapes and materials may be difficult to pull through the holder. The holder can fit pens up to 13.5 mm (0.53”) in diameter.
