Mother 2Cast (Leather)A6 Size (fits Planner and Original)
This cover is an homage to Shigesato Itoi's 1994 Super Nintendo game, Mother 2 (EarthBound in North America). Based on a cover from our 2016 lineup, this time Cast returns as a leather cover with the pattern pressed into the material.
The cover features a variety of characters that appear throughout the entire game — not just Ness, his cohort, and Mr. Saturn, but also Bubble Monkey, Dr. Andonuts, a Tenda, the Exit Mouse, the Runaway Five, Apple Kid, the Slot Machine brothers, Aloysius, and lots more. It’s fun to look through and find all your favorite NPCs, and even cameos from the hotel sign, the bird phone from Deep Darkness, and the trash can we all know and love. You can even spot some sprites that were exclusive to the Japanese version before being edited during localization.
The cover is made with all-natural leather, so you can enjoy its transformation over time as you spend time with your favorite characters. The leather begins with a light color that gradually matures and darkens over time.
The interior includes the Mother 2 logo.
The bookmarks are also made with leather and are cut diagonally at the tips.
The Cast (Leather Version) cover comes in an exclusive box.
The 2020 edition Mother 2 techo series, including Cast (Leather Version), includes a pad of adhesive bookmarks with the Cast design.
These Mother 2 adhesive bookmarks contains adhesive on the bottom so they can stick out from the top of your page. The bookmark contains a wide area of adhesive so it stays firmly in place when stuck. The pattern is printed in gray so that you can write on the papers and use them as sticky notes. These bookmarks are great to pair with a Mother 2 cover.

Each item is individually assembled and sewn by hand by a factory worker. Best efforts are made to ensure consistent sizes and specifications, but there may be slight differences.
- Tanned leather (Natural)
In order to provide the full enjoyment of visible changes in aging leather, this product uses natural leather and does not contain dyes. It is possible for leather products used in the same settings to age differently. In addition, the leather may haveimperfections visible on the surface, such as wrinkles, scratches, stains, or vein marks. These will stand out less over continued use. We ask for your understanding for these naturally occurring characteristics of genuine leather.
- Pen holders are rigid at first
The pen holders are rigid at first, making it difficult to insert pens. You can speed up the breaking-in process by rolling the pen holders in your hand.
- Design imprint may contain slight variances
The design imprint may contain slight variances in depth and appearance. This is an unavoidable part of the manufacturing process.
- Pen holder fits pens up to 13.5 mm wide
The pen holder is designed to perfectly fit the 12.2 mm (0.48”) diameter Jetstream pen offered as a free Hobonichi Store Exclusive. Pens with certain shapes and materials may be difficult to pull through the holder. The holder can fit pens up to 13.5 mm (0.53”) in diameter.
- Not for use with Cover on Cover
The PVC plastic of the Cover on Cover contains plasticizer additives which may cause a reaction in the leather dye and affect the color and quality of the leather cover. Please refrain from using the Cover on Cover with this product.
- Immediately dry if it gets wet
Immediately dab your product with a dry cloth if it gets wet. Avoid drying it with high temperatures, and place it in a well-ventilated place in the shade.
