We asked children’s book author and illustrator Shinsuke Yoshitake to create this illustration for the Hobonichi Techo. Children consider even an average day to be full of adventure, and this design is to remind us to write about even our average days and cherish those moments.
The cover illustrations are all selected with a focus on drawings of children, mainly from those printed on the bottom of the Hobonichi Techo 2022 Day-Free’s graph paper pages. There are 40 illustrations total on the A6 size Original cover.
The natural-colored canvas material has been printed on with an inkjet printer.
The interior pocket is printed with Shinsuke Yoshitake’s signature next to an illustration of a sitting baby. Opening your techo to meet the baby’s distant expression is sure to help you feel even more attached to your cover over time.
Even before he wrote children’s books and held an office job, Shinsuke Yoshitake has always drawn things that stuck out to him or thoughts that crossed his mind into his techo. The Today’s Adventure cover is filled with a collection of small illustrations that came about as simple sketches. There are so many cute poses in the mix, with some looking bored and others staring off deep into space. These still drawings are so filled with Yoshitake’s artistic charm that you can almost see the characters move and hear them talk.
There is also a variety of Shinsuke Yoshitake merchandise that is great for use with your Hobonichi Techo, such as two types of Today’s Adventure Stamps, Today’s Adventure Stickers, and three designs in the Short Phrase Sticky Note pads based on his popular illustrations from the Hobonichi Techo 2018 leaflet.
These illustrations may look like nothing but plain, everyday situations, but they’re all a continuation of our everyday adventures. Have your own everyday adventures with your Hobonichi Techo.

In order to provide you with the most satisfaction for your product, we've compiled a list of warnings, potential issues, and tips to keep in mind for this particular product. Please be sure to read this information carefully before placing your order.
Each item is individually assembled and sewn by hand by a factory worker. Best efforts are made to ensure consistent sizes and specifications, but there may be slight differences.
This material is first printed or dyed and then later sewn onto the cover. While colors are designed to be consistent, there may be uneven coloring or slight shade variances between covers. This may also happen across a single cover, such as a pocket compared to the rest of the cover. In addition, on rare occasions, there may be small black or white dots visible on the print. This is an unavoidable aspect of the manufacturing process.
Due to the structure of the cover that opens flat 180 degrees, exterior stitching areas may appear puckered and lining material may be loose.
This cover uses thicker materials than usual, so it may not fit. Forcing it into a Cover on Cover may damage the products.
The pen holders are rigid at first, making it difficult to insert pens. You can speed up the breaking-in process by rolling the pen holders in your hand.
The pen holder is designed to perfectly fit the 12.2 mm (0.48”) diameter Jetstream pen offered as a free Hobonichi Store Exclusive. Pens with certain shapes and materials may be difficult to pull through the holder. The holder can fit pens up to 13.5 mm (0.53”) in diameter.
Please avoid storing your product in hot, humid places or placing it atop other objects for long periods of time as this may result in lower quality and color stains.
