Anticipation mixed with a twinge of worry. The moment of “starting” something is special for anyone. We created a cover with Tsuchiya Kaban to support moments like this.
The leather is an oil natural leather from Tsuchiya Bag Factory’s "tone oil nume" series that has been enjoyed for a long time. The moist, soft leather will fit well into your hands and will mature as you use it to become even softer with an added sheen. You will be able to enjoy the charms of a leather cover to its fullest, making this cover the perfect choice for anyone purchasing a leather product for the first time. The cover color is a calm dark brown. The chic and deep hue of brown will fill you with peace just by looking at it.
The cover is closed by wrapping a leather string around it. Enjoy taking your time to unwind the leather strap to open your techo and fastening it shut.
When you unravel the cover, you’ll find pockets to store your favorite pens and stationery. They come with a stopper, so your items will stay safely inside the cover even when it's tipped upside down.
There’s also a pocket where there's the opening to slip in your techo. The pocket is the perfect size to keep your cards and business cards. The logo of Tsuchiya Bag Factory and Hobonichi is embossed on the bottom left.
The interior uses a pig suede to protect your important pens and techo.
When you purchase this cover, it will come with a Starter Phrases card to carry around words that are important to you, and a leather bookmark in which you can store that card.
Spend your time “starting” something with this techo.
Because each cover is handmade by artisans, there is a limit to the number of covers that can be produced. This cover will therefore be available through lottery sales.

About Tsuchiya Bag Factory
Brand producing leather bags and leather items, established in 1965. Started by creating randoseru bags in a factory in Adachi ward, Tokyo. The randoseru bags are made from over 150 parts, with artisans conducting all the processes by hand that go well above 300. Began creating leather bags and items for adults from the 2000s. Their simple and fine items are loved by people of all ages.

Each item is individually assembled and sewn by hand by a factory worker. Best efforts are made to ensure consistent sizes and specifications, but there may be slight differences.
- About the Tone Oilnume leather
- The natural expression of leather, such as textures, scratches and marks are unique to each piece of leather. We hope you enjoy it as a unique, one in the world leather.
- The oil and dye are soaked into the leather, so there will be variances in color depending on the density of fibres. This means that there may be variances in color between the same product, or the same part, but please enjoy it as the unique expression of each leather.
- The leather is prone to scratches even with just your nails, but they will less noticable if you massage it for light scratches, or wait until is blends in.
- Because it's soaked with oil, you do not need to care it with oil at the start (while the oil is still in the leather, it's harder for the oil to soak in).
- When the leather is wet, it will be prone to stains, the color rubbing off, or change its shape. We recommend you use waterproofing sprays beforehand when using it in rainy conditions.
- When receipts are kept inside for a long time, the print may dissapear due to the oil in the leather.
- Because the leather is processed in a way that retains its original feel, the leather may cause color stains when it is rubbed against other objects, when it is damp, or when it adheres to other surfaces for a long time. Please be careful when wearing clothes in pale tones.- About the pig suede
- It may cause color stains when rubbed againts other objects or used when damp.
- When you spot dirt marks that draw your attention, please gently tap it with a damp towel that is wringed out properly. (Excessive rubbing will result in fluffing, so please handle with care).
- Cleaners and oils for leather cannot be used, as it will cause the surface to be sticky.
- About storage
- When storing items for a long time, please rub any dirt or moisture off with a dry cloth, and store it in a breathable environment that won't get humid. Additionally, please do not store it in a closet in its outer box.
- The oils in leathers with a high oil quantity may come out as white dust under sudden temperature changes, such as airconditioning and heating used in summer and winter, but will turn back to normal when rubbed in with a cloth or with your fingers.- About repairs
