These are 4-color sets that use water-based pigment ink perfect for stamps and stencils. “SoraMame” means broad bean in Japanese, and so the cute, round stamps come in a stand shaped like a broad bean’s pod.
They are made by Japanese stamp ink maker Tsukineko, and is supervised by eraser stamp artist Tomoko Tsukui. It has beautiful pigmentation, and the exquisite color scheme differentiates it from simple red, black and yellow inks.
Yo-Yo includes four colors: rose, light gray, lemon and jade. The light gray brings out the other three bright colors.
The Kiriko set includes iris, ivory, mihanada (light blue) and uguisu (Japanese bush warbler). The calm color scheme includes a nice balance of pale and elegance.
High Collar is a set with lotus, moegi (light green), ochre and indigo blue. The colors are reminiscent of spring in Japan and are balanced with pink, green, yellow and blue colors.
Because the pad is small, it’s easy to color detailed parts in different colors. It can be used on a variety of surfaces other than paper, including fabrics such as cotton and linen, and wood and leather. If you choose to stamp it on fabric, you will be able to wash it by ironing it beforehand. Have a fun stamp life using ink pads inspired by Japanese colors.
