This Yasashii Towel is printed with a polar bear illustration by Izumi Shiokawa. The illustration was first featured in a polar bear exhibit hosted in 2021 at Hobo Nichoyobi, Hobonichi’s event space.
There are two designs. One is printed with the soft lines of Shiokawa’s drawing of two young polar bear cubs being held by their mother on the side of the towel made with white gauze titled “Polar Bear Family,” and the other with an illustration of innocent polar bear cubs sprawled out, titled “Baby Polar Bear.” The crisp black print brings out the cuteness of the polar bears and gives the design a cool look.
The Yasashii Towel is a longtime popular item at Hobonichi. The front has double gauze, and the back is made from pile fabric. All these layers allow the towel to soak up water well, and no matter how many times you wash and dry the towel, it will stay plump and soft.
This towel will give you that soft and fuzzy feeling that you can imagine from a polar bear.

In order to provide you with the most satisfaction for your product, we've compiled a list of warnings, potential issues, and tips to keep in mind for this particular product. Please be sure to read this information carefully before placing your order.
This towel uses pile fabric for one side of the fabric, and a double gauze for the other. It is more thin and light than towels that use pile fabric on both sides.
The pile fabric and the gauze are attatched together with threads. The areas that are binded with the thread looks dented when looked from the side with the gauze.
When you start using the towel, thin fibers may stick to your body when you wipe yourself, or drop off into the water inside your washing machine and may look like it's dyed. We recommend you wash it before you use it, and wash it on its own for 2 to 3 times, to avoid the fiber sticking to other clothes.
Towels with prints may give off color at the beginning. Please avoid washing it with your whites. It may have a faint smell of dye at first, but will fade as you use it.
The threads of the pile fabric used are processed so that it's plump and shiny, so the loops are easy to get caught. with little wrinkles. Avoid washing it together with clothes that have buttons or zippers. When the thread protrudes, cut the root of the thread with scissors.
Do not use chlorine bleach or detergent with fluorescent brightening agents when washing as it will cause the towel to discolor.
To ensure the towel’s water absorbency, please avoid using fabric softeners.
The shrinking rate will increase when dried in a tumble dryer than when dried in the sunlight. If you are using this towel for the first time, please refer to this page where we explain it in more detail. *Japanese only
