This lavish Zippers cover uses fabric by the renowned fancy tweed maker Malhia Kent. It returns to this year’s lineup with a different textile after a popular debut in the 2022 lineup.
The gorgeous, eye-catching tweed intertwines threads in various materials and colors, some extra wide and coarse to the touch, to create a beautiful look.
The colors in Peche Tweed range from peach pink to off-white, with a collection of threads with varying color gradations that give this cover a light pink theme. There are also sparkly lavender-colored threads that stand out, as well as glittery blue and light green threads that provide a nice accent to the pattern. Just looking at this textile will make you feel at ease.
If you look closely, you’ll see a great variety in the texture and color of the threads, and even threads with puffy three-dimensional textures or that vary in thickness as they move across the cover. This textile’s use of so many different threads contributes to its profound charm.
The zipper pull is accented with a wide light-blue grosgrain ribbon that allows you to hold the cover like a clutch bag.
Because the cover uses a tweed with a timeless quality, we chose a natural leather interior so that you can enjoy it for a long time.
It comes with one bookmark made from the same natural leather.
We hope you enjoy the leather as it matures and grows its own sheen.
*In the Hobonichi Techo 2024 lineup, the Cousin book is available as the Japanese edition and the English edition.
(The English edition is only available as the January start version.)
Malhia Kent’s shop is located in the center of Paris, France. The shop is filled with unique threads and fabrics created from those threads.
People who visit the shop are generally surprised that this charming, intricate fabric is made with a simple loom that has been passed down.
It requires a lot of technique to create this tweed that combines threads in various thicknesses and textures. We hope you fully enjoy the handwork that requires a lot of effort to create.
Fabric maker, founded in 1958. Founder Malhia Kent was born in Paris. In her 20s, while studying law, she came across a handloom at an antique shop. Buying it on a whim, she taught herself to use it by trial and error, without any knowledge of textiles. Eventually she created a spotted “fancy tweed” textile that made its debut for a high-end European brand, and went on to create tweed for several brands. After her death, Kent’s designs and vision have been carried on.

In order to provide you with the most satisfaction for your product, we've compiled a list of warnings, potential issues, and tips to keep in mind for this particular product. Please be sure to read this information carefully before placing your order.
Each item is individually assembled and sewn by hand by a factory worker. Best efforts are made to ensure consistent sizes and specifications, but there may be slight differences.
The patterned fabric has not been aligned to a specific layout, so the placement of each design will vary by product. The product will not be an exact replica of the one in the product photographs.
Threads on the outer material may fray if they catch on sharp objects or are tugged too strongly, so please handle with care.
Some products may have a design that is not perfectly straight. This is an unavoidable aspect of the manufacturing process.
The interior uses tanned leather that may have imperfections visible on the surface, such as wrinkles, scratches, stains, or vein marks. We ask for your understanding for these naturally occurring characteristics of genuine leather.
Due to the structure of the cover that opens flat 180 degrees, exterior stitching areas may appear puckered and lining material may be loose.
The pen holders are rigid at first, making it difficult to insert pens. You can speed up the breaking-in process by rolling the pen holders in your hand.
The pen holder is designed to perfectly fit the 12.2 mm (0.48”) diameter Jetstream pen offered as a free Hobonichi Store Exclusive. Pens with certain shapes and materials may be difficult to pull through the holder. The holder can fit pens up to 13.5 mm (0.53”) in diameter.
Please avoid storing your product in hot, humid places or placing it atop other objects for long periods of time as this may result in lower quality and color stains.
