This fountain pen does not have a cap—instead, it’s a retractable pen that you can easily access with the touch of a button for a smooth writing experience. This pen is by Pilot, a prolific fountain pen maker in Japan with over 100 years of history. The design of the pen appears modern at first glance, but it was actually first designed over fifty years ago. It was developed for more comfortable and active daily use, rather than a fountain pen that stays restricted to your desk. The technology used in this retractable fountain pen is the only of its kind in the world. Hobo Nikkan Itoi Shinbun celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2018, so at the time we created an original version of the pen called the Hobonichi Capless Fountain Pen. Now we’ve applied a logo to offer a MOTHER edition of this product.



The pen body is a relaxed matte black, with the logo printed in antique gold. The pen clip is silver to give the overall product a snazzy look.



The pen nib is made with 18 karat gold, and it’s soft, so continued usage will cause it to write in progressively thicker lines. We hope you enjoy this transformation as you use this pen for a long time.
