Many regions in Japan have their own unique fabrics, with characteristics based on the area’s climate and culture. This pouch is made with these special textiles.
The textured cotton-flax fabric of Koyaguchi Pile is covered in images of green plants that seem to grow right off the cover. The woven fabric is made at the foot of Mt. Koyasan in Wakayama Prefecture. The design is actually the result of decades of work from a local business that designs patterns for pile fabrics. This beautiful textile has been used to create a magnet-sealed coin pouch.
