The title character from the children’s book published in 1958, A Bear Called Paddington, is now available on a Hobonichi Techo Weeks book cover.

Paddington™ is a bear who traveled alone from Peru to England, and lives with the Brown family in London. He wears a trademark red hat and blue coat, and loves marmalade sandwiches. He writes letters about his daily life and sends them to his Aunt Lucy in the Home for Retired Bears where she lives in Peru.

The Weeks cover design has a pale cream-colored background and an image of Paddington wearing his red hat and holding a suitcase. The cover has been constructed as a light hardcover book with some give to it so it still bends, and is made with cloth with a fine, uneven texture.

The year 2025 is foil-printed in gold, which sparkles in the light to give the book a strong sense of presence.

The book spine stands out with the title “Please Look After This Bear. Thank You,” printed onto the isolated blue on the spine. This is the title of the first chapter of the children’s book, as it’s the message written on a tag around Paddington’s neck when he first met the Browns.

The back cover shows a monochrome image of the back of Paddington, giving the Weeks book a cute yet stylish look that adults can also enjoy.

You can also buy a pencil board that matches the color scheme to use as a set.

Paddington’s hearty curiosity has him trying all kinds of new things, and we hope you can spend 2025 alongside him, making exciting memories.

In addition to the techo, our Paddington™ lineup includes stationery and accessories that make a great set when used together.

When you order this Hobonichi Techo Weeks, you’ll receive a clear, adhesive corner pocket you can stick anywhere you like.

The book uses thin and light yet durable Tomoe River paper. This paper that underwent an overhaul with the 2024 edition techo is more resistant to bleed through, lighter despite being the same thickness, and has a smoother surface by adjusting the fibers of the paper.

The Weeks book has space for writing in plans or journal entries, and it also has 69 pages of grid paper memo pages in the back. The back of the book contains bonus pages, including Sample Symbols and Icons and Recommended Noodle List of 47 Prefectures.

If you’d like storage space or a way to change up the look of your Weeks book, you can customize your book by pairing it with a Weeks cover.

Filled with the appeal of Paddington

Paddington is a famous children’s book. I happened to read it, and was entranced by the beautiful artwork and interesting story.

Paddington is gentlemanly and curious, and I felt heartened and bold with all the new things he tried in his daily adventures. The kindness and charm of all the characters in the story had me laughing and crying as I read. At one point in the story, Paddington receives a scrapbook as a Christmas gift, and when I saw that, I felt like it matched the Hobonichi Techo perfectly. I knew I wanted to make that into a techo.

The Original and Cousin cover designs have detailed line drawings that appeal to anyone, regardless of whether they’ve ever seen Paddington before. The Weeks book has a color design with a symbolic illustration of Paddington that perfectly encapsulates the character.

The color illustrations are also so wonderful that we made it into a pencil board so people can enjoy that image as well. Using the pencil board along with these techos will let you immerse yourself even more into the world of Paddington.

We also have a collection of matching stationery and accessories, which include stickers, sticky notes, and a handkerchief. There’s also letter paper and a letter set as a nod to the way Paddington writes letters to his Aunt Lucy, and a paper bag set that I imagine Paddington would use to carry his favorite marmalade sandwiches or pastry. I hope you can add some fun into your day with these Paddington items!

Please Read Before You Buy

In order to provide you with the most satisfaction for your product, we've compiled a list of warnings, potential issues, and tips to keep in mind for this particular product. Please be sure to read this information carefully before placing your order.

Test fountain pens before regular use

The Hobonichi Techo's Tomoe River paper is designed to prevent bleed-through, but some fountain pens and water-based ink pens are not compatible with this paper. When switching to a new pen, we recommend testing the pen somewhere in the book, such as the back memo pages, to see if the ink bleeds through or takes an especially long time to dry.

Cover corners are slightly bumpy and shiny

The corners of the cover contain light traces of press marks, shines, and lumps. This is an unavoidable part of the manufacturing process.

Coloring may stain other objects

The dye in the cover may stain other objects if it rubs against or sticks to them, especially if the cover is wet from water or sweat from your hands. Please store with care.

Imprinted year numbers may peel

The numbers of the year are stamped onto the cover in metallic or other colored leaf, so strong rubbing or everyday use may cause the numbers to peel off.

Avoid storing in hot and humid places

Please avoid storing your product in hot, humid places or placing it atop other objects for long periods of time as this may result in lower quality and color stains.
