UnsodoBook - Bijutsukai / Shin-Bijutsukai

  • 2025 New

Bijutsukai and Shin-Bijutsukai were published in the Meiji era (1868–1912) by Unsodo, a Kyoto-based art publishing company and the only publisher of hand-printed woodblock books in Japan. Both books are collections of beautiful craft designs by various designers and Japanese painters

These books have been re-edited from the original Bijutsukai and Shin-Bijutsukai, published in several volumes during the Meiji era and compiled into one volume each. Each book contains more than 250 outstanding craft designs from among the large number of craft designs.

Not only can you enjoy the magnificent design, but you can also use them as a reference for textile and graphic designs. They are a collection of designs that fuse Japanese tradition and Western modernity.
