Bow & TieTiny Dragons2024 edition / Weeks Hardcover Book / Weekly Horizontal / JPN edition / Apr start / Mon start

  • 2024 ver.

The Bow & Tie series is covered with the same textured, shiny fabric used in neckties. The gloss and soft touch of the material makes this series stand out from other Weeks books.

Green seahorses are lined up on a navy background for this design. The charming seahorses that swim in the ocean have been created in detail through the weaves of the necktie material.

We chose seahorses as a motif for this design as the year 2024 is the Year of the Dragon, and in Japan, the name “seahorse” literally translates to “child of a dragon.” Seahorses are known as a symbol of family happiness coming from their unique trait that the father gives birth. Among the seahorses you'll find those that are swimming by a coral or swimming as a family.

The cover has been constructed as a light, hardcover book with some give to it so it still bends.

When you order this Hobonichi Techo Weeks, you’ll receive a clear, adhesive corner pocket you can stick anywhere you like.

From the 2024 April-start version for the Weeks, the book uses thin and light yet durable Tomoe River paper. The paper has supported the Hobonichi Techo for over 20 years with its special characteristics, but it’ll be undergoing an overhaul starting with the 2024 edition techos. The paper is more resistant to bleed through, lighter despite being the same thickness, and has a smoother surface by adjusting the fibers of the paper.

The Weeks book has space for writing in plans or journal entries, and it also has 73 pages of grid paper memo pages in the back. The back of the book contains informational pages, including An Interview with Myself and Seasonal Sweets to Make at Home.

If you’d like storage space or a way to change up the look of your Weeks book, you can customize your book by pairing it with a Weeks cover.

The charm that grown-ups would want to carry around

You can select from the Weeks book and HON for the Bow & Tie series, with patterns made from tie fabrics.

The 2024 edition features a cute and charming seahorse inspired by the dragon zodiac sign of the year.

In this Bow & Tie series, we sometimes sneak a “lucky motif” in the continuous pattern. There are two types of “lucky motifs” in this “Tiny Dragon” design; a red coral and a parent and child seahorse.

We hope you will choose the techo with the Tiny Dragon, also known as a lucky charm, as your partner to spend your year with.

The other “Cats & Me” design features cats in all kinds of colors and patterns, seemingly sitting looking at you. The “lucky motif” for this design is the cats’ favorite, a ball of yarn.

The lovable design of “Tiny Dragon” and the cats with a classy and fashionable atmosphere in “Cats & Me” would be great for users of all ages.

Please Read Before You Buy

In order to provide you with the most satisfaction for your product, we've compiled a list of warnings, potential issues, and tips to keep in mind for this particular product. Please be sure to read this information carefully before placing your order.

Pattern alignment varies by product

The patterned fabric has not been aligned to a specific layout, so the placement of each design will vary by product. The product will not be an exact replica of the one in the product photographs.

Use caution around sharp objects

The material in this product snags easily on sharp objects, so please handle with care.

Test fountain pens before regular use

The Hobonichi Techo's Tomoe River paper is designed to prevent bleed-through, but some fountain pens and water-based ink pens are not compatible with this paper. When switching to a new pen, we recommend testing the pen somewhere in the book, such as the back memo pages, to see if the ink bleeds through or takes an especially long time to dry.
