With Ryoji Arai in first place, Makoto Wada in third and Shaun Tan in eighth, covers to enjoy the beauty of each artwork ranked high, possibly showing people’s desire to spend the year with a beautiful piece of art. Both Mother covers joined the ranking too, reminding us of its timeless popularity. Out of the Colors series, “Dreamy Pink” with a cute feel was the most popular, followed by “Blue Pistachio” and “Summer Lemon.” Other covers in the ranking include Kodue Hibino’s “kadan (Gray)” with a pattern that will make your heart sing, and Candy Stripper in which we collaborated for the very first time.

Makoto Wada's “Time-Traveling Bird” that is also popular as the A6 size dominated the A5-size cover lineup. Kodue Hibino’s “kadan (White)” came second. With Mother ranking 7th and Candy Stripper 8th, lots of covers were popular both as the A6 size and A5 size. In third place is the fluffy Sesame Street “Cookie Monster” cover. Covers using fresh colors, such as “Turquoise” from the Colors series and “Apple Green Gingham,” seem to be popular too. Out of the minä perhonen lineup, the simple and calm “ohayo (Gray)” was the most popular.

The Bow & Tie books that use the same material as neckties are popular every year, and this year was no exception. “Swallows” ranked first, and “Camp” came in third. Sesame Street and Shaun Tan that is popular as the A6 size and A5 size was also favored in the Weeks books lineup. Makino Tomitaro’s Weeks has a fan-following, and it was chosen by many people this year too. Hiroshi Hatano’s “Spring Day” that lets you enjoy the beauty of spring was loved as well. Out of the Colors series, “Mint,” “Cherry Blossom,” “Twinkle” and “Latte Beige” ranked in.

The Cover on Cover that is popular every year swept the top three spots. Shaun Tan’s Clear Cover also ranked in eighth, showing how it has become an indispensable item to the techo. The Plain Notebook in which its spacious writing space allows users to write in freely, and the Weekly Calendar that allows you to see the entire week at a glance, seem to be a great companion to the techo and was also chosen by many. Out of the Pencil Boards in which 20 new designs joined this year, the Mother Pencil Board for A6 size was the most popular. You can’t go wrong with the Mother series! Other designs that made the ranking include the “Warm Red x Yellow” Pencil Board in A5 size and the Doraemon Pencil Board in A6 size.

Makoto Wada’s covers that proved to be popular in the Hobonichi Store also ranked high in Tobichi shops too! There were many customers who made up their mind that this was their definite choice before visiting the shop.

In second place was the Mother cover “An enemy blocked the way!” Up first in the A5 size cover sales ranking was Kodue Hibino’s kadan (White), followed by Colors “Turquoise” in third, showing how covers that were popular in the Hobonichi Store were also chosen by Tobichi customers. With minä perhonen's “candle” coming third for the A6 size covers, the most popular cover amongst the minä perhonen series was different to the Hobonichi store. When you take a look at the Weeks ranking, the Weeks book by Hiroshi Hatano, who’s done a photography exhibition at Tobichi before, ranked high. “Camp” and “Swallows” from the Bow & Tie series were also a customer favorite at Tobichi, but “Camp” came first here.

In the sales ranking for items sold in Hobonichi CultureN and in Hobo Nichiyoubi from September 1st to 13th, once again, Mother, Kodue Hibino and Makoto Wada's covers were popular. Like it was in Tobichi, “candle” was well-received out of the minä perhonen series. The characteristics of this Hobonichi CultureN sales ranking is that the Candy Stripper cover ranked second in the A6 size cover lineup. Perhaps customers who visited the Candy Stripper shop in Shibuya PARCO (where Hobonichi CultureN is) came to take a look at the techos? With Sesame Street's “Cookie Monster” third in the A5 cover category, and Shirt Fabric series’ “Pocho” first in the Weeks book category, covers that have textures and are fun to the touch seem to be popular in physical stores. For the Weeks category, Hiroshi Hatano’s “Spring Day” and “Camp” from the Bow & Tie series were a hit here too.
