piece, (blue mix)A6 Size (fits Planner and Original)

minä perhonen creates all-original garment textiles that are specially dyed, embroidered and woven to recreate designs that were originally hand-drawn.
"piece," patchwork covers are made with all the leftover pieces of textiles saved when creating clothing and handbags so they don't go to waste.

This color-coordinated “blue mix” collection includes 9 different designs, each with a unique texture, thickness, material, and even age. The yellow, blue, and gray color schemes work together to give the cover a cool feel that also somehow gives off a sense of warmth, making the blue mix cover match well with any season.

The light blue cow leather cover interior and pen holders are accented with dotted lace bookmarks. The bookmarks come in random colors, so you can look forward to finding out which color bookmarks you’ll get once your cover arrives.

Each fabric patch is cut from a different spot in the original textile and sewn into the patchwork by hand, giving every cover an entirely unique look. Due to the limited nature of the textile leftovers used in the patchwork, this cover is available through lottery sale. For more information, please see the About Lottery Sales section below.

Textiles used in piece, blue mix

    1. fogland (2007-08 Autumn / Winter)

This Jacquard velvet textile depicts a forest engulfed in fog. The use of several different types of yarn allows a contrast between the fog and the thick trees.

    2-A. meri (2014 Spring / Summer)

meri is Finnish for "ocean." This textile looks both like the sparkles of sunlight against waves and the early morning dew on the sandy beach.

    2-B. sunny yarn(2015 Spring / Summer)

A checkered material that evokes the feel of warm sunshine with the overlaying stripes like beads of light.

*The textile #2 comes in either A or B.

    3. tambourine (2000-01 Autumn / Winter)

Freehand-drawn circles are embroidered in dots that protrude from the fabric in this minä perhonen classic.

    4-A. pop rain (2013-14 Autumn / Winter)

This textile has candy-likeraindrops poppingout from the fabric.

    4-B. petal flame (2017-18 Autumn / Winter)

This embroidery combines the motif of fire with flowers, and features an imaginary small village where both fire and flowers were cherished as precious treasures.

*Thread colors come in various styles and may differ from example photo.

*The textile #4 comes in either A or B.

    5-A. bird garden(2016 Spring / Summer)

Bird footprints are left behind in a thicket in this pile Jacquard textile.

    5-B. stone beads (2014-15 Autumn / Winter)

This rhythmic design has various sizes of rocks lined upalong this Jacquard velvet textile.

*The textile #5 comes in either A or B.

    6. centofiori (2015-16 Autumn / Winter)

This Velvet Jacquard textile shows a field filled with blooming flowers, this time in a way that will continue to bloom throughout even the coldest winter.

    7. hana yuki (2014-15 Autumn / Winter)

Butterflies gently flutter across the cloth, their wings contrasting against the background’s colors and smears from the original hand-painted art.

    8-A. Rosas (2015-16 Autumn / Winter)

This textile contains images of roses embroidered tightly together with a grainy overlay. The thick petals give off a gentle yet strong aura.

    8-B. sky flower (2012-13 Autumn / Winter)

Butterflies bloom in the sky like flowers with this embroidered pattern that uses extra-thick thread to give the piece a hand-drawnfeel.

    8-C. tanpopo (2018 Spring / Summer)

Boldly-blooming dandelions (tanpopo in Japanese) tilt their heads and wave their jagged leaves in this intricately embroidered textile.

*The textile #8 comes in either A, B, or C.

    9. pesce (2018 Spring / Summer)

Schools of bright fish cross paths in the depths of the calm ocean in this geometric pattern.
