piece, [blue mix]A6 Size (fits Planner and Original)
minä perhonen is a clothing brand that uses original, in-house fabrics which start from artwork by designer Akira Minagawa and are polished into embroidered, woven, dyed, and other meticulously crafted textiles. "piece," patchwork covers are made with all the leftover pieces of textiles saved when creating clothing and handbags so they don't go to waste.
This blue mix variety is made with 9 different blue-based designs, each with a unique texture, thickness, material, and even age.
The cover interior and pen holder are made with blue leather. The interior is accented with a butterfly embroidered with light pink threads, while the dual-colored bookmarks come in brown and light gray.
Each fabric patch is cut from a different spot in the original textile and sewn into the patchwork by hand, giving every cover an entirely unique look.
This year includes three different "piece," themes: blue mix, yellow mix, and pink mix.

1. forest ring（2016-17 Autumn / Winter）
These painted dots are overlaid with scrap-paper art and arranged into a herringbone pattern between all four circle types.
2. new journey（2016 Spring / Summer）
This flock of migratory birds stands on the start line, ready to go at any moment in this Jacquard weave textile.
3. land puzzle（2015-16 Autumn / Winter）
Corduroy ridges form various patterns, with shadows and 3D effects making it look like a scene you’re looking down on from the sky.
4. forest dot（2016 Spring / Summer）
This embroidered textile depicts spheres of trees and the shadows of their branches, all as viewed from overhead.
5. pata pata（2015 Spring / Summer）
Sturdy cotton linen is overlaid with origami-like graphics to create a large checkered design.
6. winter lake（2016-17 Autumn / Winter）
A swan rests its wings while sitting in the winter lake along its migratory journey in this warm Jacquard Velvet piece.
7. pallo（2016 Spring / Summer）
The four corners on this contemporary textile are embroidered to make the circles in the design really pop.
8. wavelet（2013 Spring / Summer）
This pintuck-woven textile is colored with a gradient reminiscent of the ocean, and almost makes you feel like you can hear the quiet churning of waves.
9. land theater（2016 Spring / Summer）
Cotton threads are intricately embroidered onto linen fabric to create a scene reminiscent of an improv stage filled with trees.

About minä perhonen
Fashion brand created by designer Akira Minagawa.
First founded in 1995 under the name minä. Opened the first shop in Shirokanedai, Tokyo in 2000, and renamed the brand name to "minä perhonen" in 2003. Opened a total of 9 shops across Japan, with a new location in Daikanyama in April 2016, a new shop in the Spiral building in Aoyama, Tokyo in July 2016, and a location coming to Kanazawa this fall.

- All covers are hand-made and may contain slight variances
Each and every cover is individually sewn by a factory worker hand-operating a sewing machine. Best efforts are made to ensure consistent sizes and specifications, but there may be slight differences.
- No outer pocket
This cover does not contain an outer pocket.
- Sharp objects may unravel threads
Threads protrude from the material, so please be careful not to catch sharp items under them as they may unravel.
- Fabric may pucker around the edges of embroidery
The embroidered design on the cover is quite large, so the material may be slightly puckered, or wrinkled, around its edges.
- Interior of cover may be loose
The interior of the cover may not be perfectly taut due to limitations during the manufacturing process.
- Lace bookmarks may contain frays
The bookmarks of this cover use original mina perhonen lace straps. If you see any loose threads, we recommend refraining from pulling on it and instead tucking it between other woven threads.
- Patchwork patterns vary by cover
The textiles comprising the patchwork design differ by design and location for each cover. Please understand the random nature of the design before ordering.
- Pen holders are rigid at first
The pen holders are rigid at first, making it difficult to insert pens. You can speed up the breaking-in process by rolling the pen holders in your hand.
- Sliding no-slip pens into the pen holder
Pens with rubber, non-slip grips may be difficult to slide into the pen holder.
- Maximum pen width of 13.5mm for pen holder
The pen holder is designed to perfectly fit the 12.2mm (0.48”) diameter Jetstream pen offered as a free bonus gift with select Japanese-version Hobonichi Web Shop products. Pens with certain shapes and materials may be difficult to pull through the holder. The holder can fit pens up to 13.5mm (0.53”) in diameter.
- Inquiries about the minä perhonen collaboration covers
These Hobonichi Techo cover designs were directed by minä perhonen, but produced by Hobonichi. Inquiries about these covers cannot be answered at minä perhonen shop locations, so please contact the Hobonichi Store with any questions or concerns.
- Avoid using with Cover on Cover
This cover uses thicker materials than usual, so it may not fit. Forcing it into a Cover on Cover may damage the products.
- Pattern alignment varies by cover
The exact alignment of the pattern across the cover varies by design, so your product will appear slightly differently than the product page example.
- Color may vary slightly based on viewing screen
The color of the product may be slightly different in actuality than compared to how it appeared on a computer or smartphone screen.
