    This cover is customers’ favorite from the Hobonichi Techo 2017 edition.



    This cover features a beautiful Liberty Print textile from the venerable British fabric brand Liberty Fabrics. Lucy Locket is a fine, floral design based on a Liberty fabric from 1930’s. In 2012, the flowers of the original design were reduced to a smaller size, and the design was reintroduced into the Eternal Collection, a collection of standard designs popular in Japan. Lucy Locket appears on Liberty Fabrics’ own "Tana Lawn" material, a meticulously processed cotton fabric with vibrant colors and a uniquely silken feel.



    The beige faux-leather interior and pen holdercomplete the cover’s elegant look.

    About Liberty Fabrics

    Liberty Fabrics is a printed fabric brand from England founded in 1875 by Arthur Lasenby Liberty (1843-1917), who discovered the beauty of Japanese art during a World’s Fair in London in the 19th century. The company originated as a small import shopwith oriental ornaments and fabrics. The delicate silk and intricate hand-dyed art were praised by followers of the Art Nouveau movement, and in the 1880’s, Liberty began printing high-quality cotton textiles as a way to recreate sturdy versions of thedelicate Eastern silks. This is the original of Liberty Print, which has created intricate prints bursting with color and complex designs ever since.

    All covers are hand-made and may contain slight variances

    Each and every cover is individually sewn by a factory worker hand-operating a sewing machine. Best efforts are made to ensure consistent sizes and specifications, but there may be slight differences.

    Pattern alignment varies by cover

    The patterned material has not been aligned to a specific layout, so the placement of each design will vary by cover. The cover will not be an exact replica of the one in the product photographs.

    Pattern does not align across pocket

    The outer pocket is not designed to align with the layer beneath it, so the pattern will not line up perfectly across this section.

    Design may contain smudges or uneven coloring

    During the print process, patterns may contain spots where the color has become smudged or uneven.

    Coloring may stain other objects

    The dye in the cover may stain other objects if it rubs against or sticks to them, especially if the cover is wet from water or sweat from your hands. Please store with care.

    Pen holders are rigid at first

    The pen holders are rigid at first, making it difficult to insert pens. You can speed up the breaking-in process by rolling the pen holders in your hand.

    Sliding no-slip pens into the pen holder

    Pens with rubber, non-slip grips may be difficult to slide into the pen holder.

    Maximum pen width of 13.5mm for pen holder

    The pen holder is designed to perfectly fit the 12.2mm (0.48”) diameter Jetstream pen offered as a free bonus gift with select Japanese-version Hobonichi Web Shop products. Pens with certain shapes and materials may be difficult to pull through the holder. The holder can fit pens up to 13.5mm (0.53”) in diameter.

    Avoid using with Cover on Cover

    This cover uses thicker materials than usual, so it may not fit. Forcing it into a Cover on Cover may damage the products.

    Color may vary slightly based on viewing screen

    The color of the product may be slightly different in actuality than compared to how it appeared on a computer or smartphone screen.
