The BeatlesBlackbirdA6 Size (fits Planner and Original)
Illustrator Izumi Shiokawa created the art for this cover, inspired by her favorite Beatles song, “Blackbird.”
The artwork of a blackbird is printed on copper colored canvas. The screen printing accurately depicts brush strokes of the original artwork drawn with a brush pen. The soft canvas fabric is pleasant to the touch.
On the bottom right of the cover interior is the word “Blackbird” and a picture of a blackbird. On the bottom left, you’ll find the logo and trademark of the Beatles.
The bookmark features black ribbons with tassels at the end. The cheerful tassels accent the cover, appearing as either the bird’s wings or feet.
The back cover is adorned with the word “Fly,” which comes up repeatedly in the song’s lyric. The cover inspires you to follow your heart, to glide freely towards your destination, like birds in the sky.
About Izumi Shiokawa
Illustrator. Born in 1980, in Nagano. After graduating from the graphic design department of Tama Art University, began working as a freelance illustrator. Major works include tableware of Idee, illustration of Mambo for Claska shop&gallery “Do,” and illustration of belly warmers for Hobonichi.

Each and every cover is individually sewn by a factory worker hand-operating a sewing machine. Best efforts are made to ensure consistent sizes and specifications, but there may be slight differences.
- Color may vary slightly between cover and pockets
The material for each part of the cover is printed or dyed separately. While colors are designed to be consistent across the entire cover, the shade may vary slightly.
- Interior of cover may be loose
The interior of the cover may not be perfectly taut due to limitations during the manufacturing process.
- Threads are napped and uneven
Threads may contain uneven thickness or naps (knots and lumps in the material).
- Silk screen print may peel over time
The cover pattern is printed using silk screen printing, which means the pattern may peel off over time. Please avoid rubbing the pattern and do not store it in sunlight for prolonged periods of time.
- Moisture, friction, or other common conditions may cause color to fade
Please note that due to the nature of cotton, this cover material is prone to fading due to moisture, friction, or other common conditions.
- Avoid pulling the bookmark charm
Please use caution and avoid pulling the charm on the end of the bookmarks, as it may cause them to rip off.
- Sliding no-slip pens into the pen holder
Pens with rubber, non-slip grips may be difficult to slide into the pen holder.
- Maximum pen width of 13.5mm for pen holder
The pen holder is designed to perfectly fit the 12.2mm (0.48”) diameter Jetstream pen offered as a free bonus gift with select Japanese-version Hobonichi Web Shop products. Pens with certain shapes and materials may be difficult to pull through the holder. The holder can fit pens up to 13.5mm (0.53”) in diameter.
- Color may vary slightly based on viewing screen
The color of the product may be slightly different in actuality than compared to how it appeared on a computer or smartphone screen.
- Avoid using with Cover on Cover
The images printed on the cover may transfer onto a Cover on Cover. Please avoid using this cover with a Cover on Cover.
