minä perhonen creates all-original garment textiles that are specially dyed, embroidered and woven to recreate designs that were originally hand-drawn.This textile is featured in a Zippers style cover.
The soda water cover has a light gray background dotted with woven blue circles, but look closely and you’ll see there’s more to it. The dots are not depicted as solitary circles, but when we look at the design, our eyes can see each dot individually. That’s the playful effect of this textile’s experimental polka-dot design.
Each blue dot is woven in a different direction in the textile, giving the pattern a unique sense of motion. The advanced technique used in weaving this textile makes it so time-consuming, only a limited amount of textiles are able to be created in a single day. We hope you enjoy the gorgeous look of the intricate Jacquard weave.
The zipper pull is made with natural leather and includes a butterfly charm.
The subdued beige faux leather of the cover interior is accented with two bookmarks in refined shades of yellow and blue.
The textile is woven together with both cotton and linen, making it smooth, glossy, and pleasant to the touch. With this cover, you can enjoy the pleasure of experiencing the beauty and touch of textiles in your everyday life.
minä perhonen is a fashion brand created by designer Akira Minagawa.
First founded in 1995 under the name minä. Opened the first shop in Tokyo in 2000, and renamed the brand name to "minä perhonen" in 2003.
In Finnish, “minä” means “I,” and “perhonen”means “butterfly,” expressing Minagawa’s hopes to create designs as light-hearted and beautiful as the flapping wings of a butterfly.

In order to provide you with the most satisfaction for your product, we've compiled a list of warnings, potential issues, and tips to keep in mind for this particular product. Please be sure to read this information carefully before placing your order.
Each item is individually assembled and sewn by hand by a factory worker. Best efforts are made to ensure consistent sizes and specifications, but there may be slight differences.
Stitching may be slightly curved or bumpy as a result of sewing together materials of various thicknesses.
This delicate textile may contain threads protruding from the material or especially the stitching areas. Please be careful not to catch sharp items under them as they may unravel. Be especially careful to avoid snagging with fingernails, rings, watches and other accessories, button fasteners or zippers on bags, rough-surfaced items, pen tips and writing tools, or other pointed surfaces.
When this cover is open flat, exterior stitching areas may appear puckered and lining material may be loose.
The pen holders are rigid at first, making it difficult to insert pens. You can speed up the breaking-in process by rolling the pen holders in your hand.
The pen holder is designed to perfectly fit the 12.2 mm (0.48”) diameter Jetstream pen offered as a free bonus gift with select Japanese-version Hobonichi Web Shop products. Pens with certain shapes and materials may be difficult to pull through the holder. The holder can fit pens up to 13.5 mm (0.53”) in diameter.
These Hobonichi Techo cover designs were directed by minä perhonen, but produced by Hobonichi. Inquiries about these covers cannot be answered at minä perhonen shop locations, so please contact the Hobonichi Store with any questions or concerns.
In order to allow customers the enjoyment of all-natural leather, the leather is processed in a way that retains its original feel. This may leave imperfections visible on the surface of the cover, such as wrinkles, scratches, stains, or vein marks.
Depending on the conditions in which the cover is used, natural oils of the leather may emerge and appear as stains. We ask for your understanding for these naturally-occurring characteristics of genuine leather.
Please avoid storing your product in hot, humid places or placing it atop other objects for long periods of time as this may result in lower quality and color stains.
