In anticipation for the release of the 2018 Hobonichi Techo lineup on Friday, September 1st, we’ll be holding the Hobonichi Techo 2018 Lineup Preview event so users can see the techo covers and books in person. Both our Minami Aoyama Tobichi 2 and our new Tobichi Kyoto locations will have the products on site for users to examine by hand.

You can browse all covers in person.
We’ll be displaying our full lineup so visitors can browse the covers in person. This includes products exclusively for sale through the Hobonichi online store — even limited-quantity designs only available through lottery sale. On Saturday, August 19th and Sunday, August 20th, techo team staff members will be on site to answer any questions you may have.

You can vote for your favorite covers.
At the preview event, there will be a button for you to cast your vote after seeing all the covers in person. We’ll also be providing real-time results online so everyone can compare results between our Tokyo location, our Kyoto location, and online. For undecided shoppers, it’s a great hint to compare what was popular online versus in-person.

Limited-edition gifts to visitors
A 5-piece set of adhesive bandages illustrated with the 2018 Hobonichi Techo covers. The gifts are original items exclusive to the Lineup Preview event, and come in a holder the size of a business card for easy storage in your techo pocket.

Early sale of Official 2018 Hobonichi Techo Guidebook
While the covers are not yet for sale, we’ll be offering the Official 2018 Hobonichi Techo Guidebook for sale early at the event. The guidebooks will go on sale to the public on Tuesday, August 22nd, but we’ll begin sales at the event on Saturday, August 19th. Every guidebook will come with a free 2018 Hobonichi Techo Original Pin.

Commemorative stamp available
We’ll also have a commemorative stamp at the event, with a different design at the Tokyo venue and the Kyoto venue. The stamp is perfect for stamping into your techo page for that day. We also have an embosser to press a design into your page! We recommend pressing it next to your serial number located in the back of the techo book.

Tobichi Kyoto only:minä perhonen x Hobonichi Techo collaboration at a glance
Our new Kyoto location will be hosting a Lineup Preview event for the first time, so to celebrate, we’ll be introducing visitors to our minä perhonen x Hobonichi Techo relationship by displaying almost all covers from the start of the collaboration in 2011 all the way to the current 2018 lineup. This is a wonderful chance for users to see the history of the collaboration at a glance.
We’ll also be preparing lots of other fun surprises, so we hope you can beat the heat and come see us at Tobichi in Tokyo or Kyoto. We look forward to seeing you!
